Prof. Dr. Corinna Hoose (KIT) developed a classification algorithm for Arctic multi–layer clouds, using parcel model calculations, radiosoundings and ground–based remote sensing from Ny–Ålesund. This study was conducted in collaboration with Marion Maturilli (AWI–P) and Kerstin Ebell (UNI–K). In the second phase of (AC)³, it is planned to use cloud resolving simulations constrained by (AC)³
observations for mixed–phase cloud process studies and parameterisation evaluation.
